Welcome to GateBook, a password location management application. By downloading, installing, or using GateBook ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using GateBook, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and the developer of GateBook.
2. Description of Service
GateBook is a mobile application that allows users to:
- Store and manage access codes with geographic locations
- View stored locations on an interactive map
- Search and organize location-based access information
- Import and export data for backup purposes
- Access premium features through in-app purchases
3. User Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use GateBook. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Account Security
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any data stored within the App
- You must ensure that access codes and location information are used lawfully and ethically
- You agree not to share sensitive access information with unauthorized parties
4.2 Lawful Use
You agree to use GateBook only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will not:
- Use the App to store or manage unauthorized access codes
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any property or location
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
4.3 Data Accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of all information you store in the App. The developer is not responsible for any consequences arising from inaccurate or unlawfully stored data.
5. Premium Features and In-App Purchases
5.1 Premium Service
GateBook offers premium features through a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional functionality.
5.2 Payment Terms
- All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Prices are displayed in your local currency and include applicable taxes
- Payment will be charged to your App Store or Google Play account upon confirmation of purchase
5.3 Refunds
Refund requests are subject to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store refund policies. The developer does not directly process refunds.
6. Location Services and Permissions
6.1 Location Data
GateBook requires location permissions to provide core functionality, including:
- Determining your current location for map display
- Associating stored access codes with geographic coordinates
- Providing location-based search and organization features
6.2 Permission Requirements
You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, but this may limit the App's functionality.
7. Data Storage and Security
7.1 Local Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device using encryption to protect sensitive information.
7.2 Data Export
You may export your data for backup purposes. You are responsible for securing any exported data files.
7.3 No Cloud Backup
The App does not automatically backup your data to cloud services. You are responsible for creating your own backups if desired.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 App Ownership
GateBook and all related intellectual property rights are owned by the developer. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the App's intellectual property except as necessary to use the App as intended.
8.2 User Content
You retain ownership of the data you store in the App, but you grant the developer a limited license to process this data solely for providing the App's functionality.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use GateBook.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
10.1 As-Is Basis
GateBook is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. The developer makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the App's functionality, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose.
10.2 No Guarantee
The developer does not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of GateBook, including but not limited to data loss, security breaches, or unauthorized access to locations.
12. Termination
12.1 User Termination
You may stop using GateBook at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.
12.2 Developer Termination
The developer reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time without notice for violations of these Terms or other reasonable grounds.
13. Updates and Modifications
13.1 App Updates
The developer may release updates to improve GateBook's functionality, security, or compatibility. You are encouraged to install updates promptly.
13.2 Terms Updates
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles.
